General Practitioners and Locums - Discover Broken Hill
Are you up for an Outback Experience? The Royal Flying Doctor Service offers exciting opportunities for General Practitioners to join our Primary Health Team. You don't need to have Retrieval or Emergency Medicine skills for this role.
Based near Broken Hill airport, come aboard to work at our Clive Bishop Medical Centre where you'll care for the local community and patients from our broader network catchment area. We also provide Telehealth services to our patients. Once you're settled, you'll have chances to enhance your skills at our remote community clinics.
This is an ideal chance to concentrate on Primary Care in a rural and remote environment. Expect a diverse experience every day.

Clive Bishop Medical Centre
Established in 2014 with the aim of offering face-to-face medical services to outback residents visiting town, our practice has expanded into a thriving, fully accredited facility serving Broken Hill and nearby regions in Far West NSW, as well as visitors. We operate from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with no on-call duties or weekend work.
Our primary focus is providing top-notch patient-centered care. We offer a supportive environment with senior supervision, 3 Practice Nurses, and a dedicated admin team. The medical center serves as a dynamic teaching practice for GP Registrars and Medical Students, with opportunities to become a Supervisor available.
Currently, we do not provide nursing home or home visit services but may extend these if practitioners express interest.
We also emphasize Professional Development, conducting quarterly educational events such as Journal Club, Morbidity and Mortality Meetings, and sessions with guest educators, all contributing to CPD.
Broken Hill
Enriched with a rich mining history, Broken Hill is a community with a big heart set in a vast desert landscape. Boasting a lively artist community, the town is known for its vibrant culture and renowned film connections. This outback town, filled with resilient and diverse individuals proud of their heritage, will welcome you warmly. Regular flights to and from Sydney and Adelaide are provided multiple times daily.
