Job Description:

Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach is looking for a professional and motivated Handy Person. In this role you will work closely with the Chief Engineer.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Undertake painting and general touch ups of hotel property including guest rooms, offices, plant rooms, furniture and fittings. Complete general maintenance tasks on plant and equipment. Shift Roster may include
- public holiday, afternoon and weekend works

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Carry out maintenance of all Hotel protective coatings and finishings.
  • Complete repairs on hotel plant and equipment
  • Carry out minor repairs to furniture.
  • Carry out general handyman duties on general maintenance works.
  • Perform any other related duties as directed by Chief Engineer.

Qualifications:

What we are looking for:

  • The ability to work weekends is essential and public holidays as required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A strong eye for detail
  • Basic knowledge of general repair work or DIY
  • Competent in the use of basic computer programs
  • Workplace Health and Safety knowledge
  • Demonstrated time management and task prioritisation
  • Ready to assist where required in a fastpaced environment
  • The ability to multitask, work under pressure and problem solve efficiently
  • Previous Handyman Experience in a hotel or guest service environment preferred, but not essential.
