About the Role


MPRG's Visitor Experience and Retail Coordinator role is primarily accountable for exemplary customer service and ensuring high quality visitor experience.

This position works closely with the Gallery Support and Curatorial Assistant - Projects to provide administrative support for gallery staff, exhibitions, finance, payroll, events and functions.

Responsible for overseeing MPRG's retail operations including curating Gallery Shop, identifying and developing exhibition related merchandise, managing stock levels, working with local creatives and developing our online store.

Reporting to the Gallery Director the core responsibilities include

  • Oversee all aspects of MPRG's retail operations, curating a highquality display of handmade goods sourced from inspiring local creative makers, in addition to selecting suitable art and design related goods, art publications and artistic resources.
  • Undertake purchasing and procurement as required.
  • Ensure the highest level of visitor experience is delivered at all times and provide outstanding Customer Service

About You

  • Proven administrative experience.
  • Retail coordination or management desirable.
  • Relevant creative arts qualification desirable.
  • Experience in the supervision of staff and volunteers to ensure a productive and cooperative workplace.
  • Experience in the Gallery/Museum environment highly regarded.
