As a Custody Officer, you will have a crucial role in establishing a safe and secure environment for detainees. Your responsibilities include ensuring their welfare needs are met while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.

• Paid Training: Receive 6 weeks of fully paid training to equip you with the essential skills for this distinctive role
• Pay increase after training: Begin at $27.35 during training, with an increase to $29.50 post-training

What will your daily tasks involve?

• Safely transport and supervise detainees during crucial activities
• Participate in court activities to meet security requirements
• Handle conflicts and communicate empathetically, positively impacting the lives of detainees
• Appreciate diversity and maintain a fair and open-minded approach towards detainees in custody
• Ensure safety and security for Persons in Custody, staff, employees, and the public
• Engage in walking and mobile patrols of a designated area, enjoying the variety of tasks
• Supervise individuals in custody, escort them to appointments or court appearances, and maintain accurate records

What are we looking for?

• Availability for full-time training for 6 weeks in Perth (Fully Funded)
• Commitment to a minimum of 12 months to acquire qualifications: We value your dedication to professional growth
• The legal right to work in Australia
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical checks, including drug & alcohol tests: Ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members and detainees is our top priority
