THE ROLE

The Paediatric Rehabilitation Clinician will have a crucial role in collaborating with children and their families to tackle a range of challenges stemming from injury, illness, or developmental differences. By conducting evidence-based assessments and employing a problem-solving approach, you'll pinpoint the underlying issues and work together with clients to create customized intervention strategies. The focus is on empowering children to adapt to and overcome their challenges, fostering crucial skills and confidence through attainable objectives. Catering to infants, children, and adolescents up to 18 years old, you will deliver purposeful assessments and interventions in natural settings such as homes, schools, and communities. This ensures that the skills acquired during therapy sessions can be effectively applied in real-world scenarios. Moreover, you'll collaborate with educational, medical, and other allied health professionals to establish comprehensive support systems for each child. You'll also be involved in various funding avenues, including CTP/ICWA, NDIS, LTCS, Private Health, Medicare, and Private/Family funding, ensuring that their services are accessible to all families in need.

THE ESSENTIALS

  • Qualified Allied Health professional with SPA, AHPRA, or ASORC registration
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology, Social Work, or Rehabilitation Consultant/Counsellor
  • Understanding of the Compulsory Third Party (CTP) and Lifetime Care and Support Scheme, and willingness to serve as an Approved Case Manager (Lifetime Care and Support)
  • Proven ability to work effectively with children and adolescents facing serious injuries or complex disabilities, along with their families
  • Familiarity with brain injury and its impact on children/adolescents and their families
  • Current valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as adept negotiation abilities
