We currently have a vacancy for a part time Health Surveillance Nurse ,working three days a week to support our diagnostic pathology and imaging businesses. This role contributes to the organisational objectives and outcomes instrumental in facilitating workplace safety through pre-employment assessment, management of blood and body fluid exposure incidents, and providing health education. The role helps to reduce workplace injuries and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations
Responsibilities :
- Conduct health screenings and assessments for new employees.
- Coordinate the management of occupational exposure incidents.
- Contributes to the monitoring and evaluation of health trends and potential health risks within the workforce.
- Maintains accurate and confidential health records.
- Provide health counselling and education and counselling to employees.
- Participate in the delivery of education programs on sharps safety.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
- Develop and implement health surveillance programs in accordance with organisational and legal requirements.
- Implement infection control and health surveillance systems
About You:
- Bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA registration
- Minimum of 2 years' nursing experience
- Experience in occupational health, public health, immunisation or infection control is advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
