We currently have a vacancy for a part time Health Surveillance Nurse ,working three days a week to support our diagnostic pathology and imaging businesses. This role contributes to the organisational objectives and outcomes instrumental in facilitating workplace safety through pre-employment assessment, management of blood and body fluid exposure incidents, and providing health education. The role helps to reduce workplace injuries and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct health screenings and assessments for new employees.
  • Coordinate the management of occupational exposure incidents.
  • Contributes to the monitoring and evaluation of health trends and potential health risks within the workforce.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential health records.
  • Provide health counselling and education and counselling to employees.
  • Participate in the delivery of education programs on sharps safety.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
  • Develop and implement health surveillance programs in accordance with organisational and legal requirements.
  • Implement infection control and health surveillance systems

About You:

  • Bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum of 2 years' nursing experience
  • Experience in occupational health, public health, immunisation or infection control is advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
