Surface Extraction Trainee: COOLJARLOO

Interested in joining the mining industry so you can support your community and mob in the future? Programmed Training Services, in partnership with Tronox, have an exciting opportunity for you to gain a Certificate III in Surface Extraction qualification through a two (2) year traineeship.

About the Role:
Located just north of Cataby on Brand Highway (190km north of Perth CBD), Tronox's Cooljarloo site mines heavy mineral concentrate using dredging techniques.
Over the course of 2-years you will be working fulltime as part of a team, getting hands-on experience, and studying towards your certificate. This role will see you gaining on the job process operating experience.

Please note, this position is residential/local so you can stay on country, however employees can also stay at the mine's camp (referred to as the Village) which is located approximately 10kms south of the mine, not far from inland Dandaragan. The Village includes a communal dining hall for all meals, individual rooms with your own bathroom, pool, gym, and lots of outdoor space.

Who we're looking for:
We want someone who is willing to learn and develop their skills over the course of the traineeship. You don't need prior experience, all you need is enthusiasm, a curious mind, and a high regard for safety. You will work as part of a team, and individually, and should have a basic level of physical fitness. You will receive on the job training, coaching, and mentoring from team mates.

As part of the recruitment process, pre-employment background checks, medical, drug & alcohol test, and site inductions will be carried out.

Who is Tronox?
Tronox is the world's leading fully integrated titanium minerals producer and pigment manufacturer. Across our Australian operations, we extract and process rich mineral sands to produce a range of valuable products including ilmenite, zircon, rutile and titanium dioxide pigment, which are then exported to international markets.

Tronox Australian sites are located at Muchea, Cataby, Kwinana, Bunbury, Australind, Kemerton, all of which are within two (2) hours' drive from Perth, together with two mine sites based in the Murray Basin, NSW. The Australian sites form part of Tronox Limited's global operations which includes operations in America, Europe, Middle East, Asia and South Africa.
