Elite Athlete and Competitions Coordinator

The Opportunity
The Elite Athlete & Competitions Coordinator is a full-time position within the Student Experience portfolio. The Elite Athlete & Competitions Coordinator is responsible for developing a number of innovative programs and events to support the growth of sport that aligns with the University of Tasmania Sport Strategy

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to raise the profile of sport at the University and strengthen student participation at Inter-Community Sport competitions.
  • Provide support advice and advocacy for elite athletes studying at the University of Tasmania and be the conduit between the athlete and all areas of the University.
  • Assist with the delivery and development of a diverse range of campus activation sport and recreational programs and activities, building strong support networks.
  • Promote the profile and importance of sport and recreation to the University internal and external community.
  • Undertake other duties or tasks as required by the Sport Team Leader to ensure the successful development of sport and recreation programs and events at the University of Tasmania.

Your Application

  • A tertiary level degree or higher in education, business (Sport Management) or event management with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • An understanding of and experience in coordinating sport, health, wellbeing and recreation activities and events and/or event management experience.
  • Proven commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to deal effectively with client issues and requests in a professional manner.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage a diverse range of tasks and meet set deadlines.

Remuneration


Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $96,794 comprising base salary within the range of $74,080 to $82,730 plus 17% superannuation.
