General Practitioner with Special Interest (GPw SI) - Urology Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service, Herston Provide for the needs of patients within the public outpatients' system referred for the investigation and management of Urology medical conditions that cannot currently be met by Primary Care Job details Position status Position status Fixed Term Temporary Position type Position type Part-time Occupational group Occupational group Health - Medical Classification Classification L13-L17 Workplace Location Job ad reference Job ad reference QLD/STR567398 Closing date 07-Jun-2024 Yearly salary Fortnightly salary Total remuneration Salary Other Job duration Job duration Part time, negotiable hours, until June 2026 The purpose of the GP with Special Interest role: The primary objectives of the GP with Special Interest (GPw SI) model include: Provide for the needs of patients within the public outpatients' system referred for the investigation and management of Urology medical conditions that cannot currently be met by Primary Care To facilitate holistic patient care by utilising expertise, perspectives, and resources of practitioners from both primary and secondary care.
The role will provide valuable GP expertise in surveillance of other medical conditions such as in renal cancer, where patients required monitoring for cancer recurrence but also lifestyle and general medical optimisation to prevent further renal impairment.
The applicant will work within a team of specialist clinicians with access to public investigative and management resources.The role will be supervised by consultant medical staff and there will be opportunities for training, education and taking part in quality activities such as research, clinical audit, safety and service planning.
The Urology service will benefit from the involvement of a holistic person-centred GP viewpoint that can enable service improvement and enhance communication between Primary and Secondary care.
Deliver high-quality outpatient services within the scope of clinical practice granted by the appropriate Medical and Dental Credentialing Sub-Committee Committee at the hospital(s) in which you perform this work.
Provide high quality medical care under the supervision and guidance of the consultant surgical staff.Actively participate in quality activities including patient safety, clinical audit, research, and service planning activities for STARS.
About you Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM).
Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
