About Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3:
Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.
John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.
Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.
As construction of GCLR3 gets under way, John Holland is actively recruiting for talented and driven Logistics Supervisor to join our
nightshift crew and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Work with the wider logistics team to support project operations and ensure they are carried out effectively and efficiently
- Monitor and report on the progress of all transport and shipments to site
- Optimise and manage operations to ensure optimal business efficiency
- Manage a team of Logistics Labourers and Operators
- Regularly coordinate with the wider delivery team to ensure that stock deliveries and materials can be delivered to site in a timely and efficient manner
- Contribute to the development of work methods and rolling short term construction programs
- Select, train and develop leading hands and ensure the observance of safety, environment and quality standards are maintained
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
- 5+ years' experience working in a Logistics Yard ideally in a Supervisory or Leading Hand capacity
- Substantial experience working within the Civil Construction industry, Ideally with a Tier 1 Contractor
- Skilled in the review of design documents and ability to understand drawings
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- The ability to commit to a fulltime night shift role working Sunday
- Thursday
