About the Role

As the wine scientist on site, you will be tasked with:

• Hands on coordination and management of the laboratory analysis, with direction from the Winemaker.
• Hands on cellar operations, inventory control and maintenance
• Working with the winemaking team to strategically plan and execute winery operations.

This role is a 12-month fixed parental leave contract and will report directly to the Winemaker.

Job Requirements

• A degree in Oenology or be working towards one.
• At least 3 years of experience within wineries.
• A passion for wine and learning.
• Attention to detail and a dedication to the 1%'ers that make premium wine.
• Leadership skills, an understanding of the importance of culture, and how it can be forged.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral.
• An optimistic approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work under pressure, calmly manage changing deadlines and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Forklift license.

The following will be looked at favourably, but not essential:

• Experience with Vintrace software.
• Experience in a winery laboratory.
