As a respected, diverse builder in Commercial, Defense, and Industrial projects up to $100 million, our client is seeking Contract Administrators up to Mid level, on varied government projects (GC21). These roles would be ideal for dedicated performers aiming to accelerate their path to Project Manager. What distinguishes this builder from others is their supportive team, which is well-equipped, proactive, and collaborative, with prompt payments to subcontractors within 72 hours. Their reputation is outstanding, and professionals are eager to join them.

The Roles:

With strong commercial acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and a genuine passion for your work, you will need to excel both independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with colleagues and designated Project Managers regularly. You will be a focused negotiator, overseeing the financial aspects of sub-contract packages for Mixed Commercial, Government, Residential projects over $1 million AUD. Ideally with GC21 exposure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Progress claim support, external variations, preparation of subcontractor packages.
  • Reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing subcontracts.
  • Handling RFI's.
  • Preparing subcontract packages (scopes, procurement, and scheduling).
To Be Successful:

You will need to be a CA with over 3 years of experience working for a reputable Australian recognized Builder on diverse projects over $2 million, preferably with commercial, industrial, defense, or government exposure in Australia. Have prior experience with an Australian Recognized Building Contractor. Hold a degree in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying. Extensive exposure to head contract work and scopes. Proficient in sub-contract claims, variations, EOT's, and cost planning. A passionate individual, eager for challenges and driven to excel. Skilled in software packages, MS Project, with PROCORE experience highly beneficial but not mandatory. Strong written communication skills. Capable of documenting project details. Proficient in forecasting and budget reports. Able to engage confidently. A collaborative team member. Capable of clearly articulating requirements to contractors. Possess strong negotiation skills. The right CA will understand the occasional need for overtime to meet deadlines, but as a medium-sized builder, with respect for family commitments, there is flexibility and consideration for work arrangements.
