BASScare is a NFP which operates an integrated program of services including meals-on-wheels, residential care facilities, respite care, dementia specific services, retirement living, as well as planned activity groups at day centres, for older people who wish to remain active and engaged with their local communities.

Located in
Canterbury, we are seeking a Lifestyle Assistant for our Community Services.

Job Role


The Lifestyle Officer, plans, implements safe and rewarding programs that respond to the social, cultural, health-related and spiritual needs of our clients.


Some duties will include:

  • Client engagement through conversation, planned activities and outcomes based activities.
  • Assist with social activities programs including community dining room, special events and respite programs.
  • Client notes, care planning and upkeep of client assessment information.
  • Transport/drive clients on outings and to our community centres in Canterbury and North Balwyn.
  • You will provide friendly and attentive service whilst keeping clients engaged and supporting them in ways that encourage independence and enjoyment.
  • Research, plan and deliver outings.
  • Transport/drive clients to and from their homes to a variety of activities and venues in greater Melbourne.
  • Home safety and venue risk assessments
  • Help monitor and maintain bus maintenance

Essential

  • High level driving skills, a current driver's license and
    ability and willing to drive a 12seat minibus:
  • Computer, Phone and Stat Nav skills
  • First Aid Certificate, Current Police Check, Right to work in Australia

Highly desirable

  • Experience in Aged Care, Disability Services, Community Services or similar role
  • A certificate III in Aged Care, certificate IV in Leisure and Health (or equivalent) or higher qualification.

Hours
Wednesday & Friday
