Data Engineering Practice Lead Role

As the Data Engineering Practice Lead, your primary role entails guiding a team of data engineers in creating top-notch mission-critical data platforms for our stakeholders. Leveraging your proficiency in Azure Data Factory, dbt, and Snowflake, you will craft, construct, and uphold scalable, dependable data pipelines, models, and warehouses. Your responsibilities include overseeing the complete delivery cycle from planning and testing to deployment and support. Collaboration with other practice leads, project managers, and stakeholders is crucial to ensure that the data solutions align with business requirements and adhere to industry best practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the data engineering practice and offer guidance to the team.
  • Devise and implement data solutions using Azure Data Factory, dbt, and Snowflake.
  • Enforce data quality, governance, and security protocols.
  • Enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of data solutions.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery including planning, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Maintain Asset Lifecycle Management practices.
  • Collaborate with other practice leads, project managers, and stakeholders for seamless integration.
  • Stay abreast of the latest data engineering trends and technologies.
Key Stakeholders

Directly reports to the Head of Architecture and Common Platforms.

Collaborates with the Head of Data to ensure timely availability of data on key platforms.

Works with IT practice leads to uphold best practices and provide technical support to the Data Engineering Practice.

Engages with other business stakeholders and IT leaders as needed.

You Will Bring

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 5 years' experience in data engineering, particularly in a consulting or professional services setting

Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, dbt, and Snowflake

Strong SQL skills

Experience in data modeling, warehousing, and quality management

Proven track record in leading and managing data engineering projects and teams

Excellent communication, presentation, and problems-solving abilities

Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
