Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for Engineering Manager for a key project to be based in our Brisbane office.
Responsibilities
- Managing a multidisciplinary engineering team to safely and efficiently deliver on agreed deliverables, schedule, and budget.
- Supporting and supervising high quality execution of the tasks assigned to the team
- Managing engineering scope of work, identifying any departures, and participating in the MOC
- Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of project activities
- Managing and directing engineering resources efficiently and effectively
- Coordinate technical delivery and assurance of the project
- Setting and maintaining standards for the development and retention of motivated and competent people within the engineering team
- Coordinate the interface between Engineering and other project functional groups, Procurement, Project Controls, Estimating, Quality
- Regularly and accurately report on progress of the engineering team through the established protocols; remedy any underperformance and identify opportunities to improve
- Demonstrate continuous improvement in contract performance through internal and external benchmarking
- Assist in incident investigations as required
- Assist in identifying and requesting functional support to the project as required
Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a degree qualification
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent with recognized professional body
- 15+ years' experience of working for an engineering service contractor across the FEED and execute phase of projects where for some of that time you were formally worked as an engineering manager/overall engineering lead on a project.
- Previous oil and gas experience coordinating a multidisciplinary engineering team, at leads' level to deliver on scope, budget, and schedule.
- Previous demonstrable experience where you have built strong repoire, trust and relationships with the client
- A proven team player who will not only be a great team fit but will have a track record of delighting clients
- Able to demonstrate team building skills and capable of influencing people at all levels of the organisation, sound dispute resolution skills in your area
- Superior written and oral communication capabilities with the ability to present, inform, and persuade at all levels and externally
