About the role


The Advisor role plays a vital part in the recruitment of classroom teacher, executive and principal positions in public schools across NSW and provides support and advice to hiring managers and prospective teachers through open and closed merit recruitment processes while undertaking administrative functions to finalise the recruitment of permanent teachers.


Our work is governed by the staffing agreement and the staffing procedure which is referred to throughout all recruitment transactions.

The role is highly analytical which will require you to be able to read and interpret large datasets.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Relevant experience in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
  • Awareness of the NSW Department of Education's Strategic Plan
  • Knowledge of the Staffing Agreement outlining the processes for filling permanent teacher vacancies in NSW public schools, the Teacher Supply Strategy and pathways to becoming a teacher in NSW public schools.

Key Knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
