The PositionWe are offering an exceptional opportunity for a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist to join one of our premier Queensland hospitals. This role promises a dynamic and rewarding career within a supportive and progressive healthcare environment.
The Hospital
This 260-bed major regional hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and is currently undergoing significant redevelopment projects totaling $324 million, slated for completion later this year. These projects include the construction of a regional cancer center, a new Emergency Department, a Rehabilitation Unit, a Maternity and Pediatrics Unit, a Dialysis Unit, and a Learning and Development Centre. Additionally, several outlying services are being consolidated into the main hospital complex, enhancing service delivery and patient care.
The Location
Situated on a picturesque part of the Queensland coast, the hospital enjoys over 300 days of sunshine annually, offering an abundance of outdoor activities. Local attractions include the Riverbank Parklands, a beautiful riverfront parkland, as well as a stunning coastal strip and nearby large islands, most of which are national parks. This location is ideal for those who love outdoor adventures and a relaxed coastal lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
- Specialist Care: Deliver high-quality anaesthetic services to patients, ensuring excellent clinical outcomes.
- Leadership: Provide effective leadership within the Anaesthetics Department, guiding and inspiring the medical team.
- Training and Education: Train, supervise, and mentor Senior Medical Practitioners, Interns, Resident Medical Officers, and Registrars.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Regional Director of Medical Services and other departments to ensure the highest standards of patient care and professional development.
The Requirements:
- To apply you must hold the FANZCA or postgraduate qualifications and experience in anaesthetics which meet ANZCA requirements for practising in this position.
- For overseas applicants as a minimum you should have already had your training assessed by ANZCA and been found to be substantially comparable.
- NZ FANZCA experienced or recently qualified
Pay
Total remuneration package of up to $465,000 depending on experience
