Summary Summary Our Tier 1 EPCM client seeks an experienced Area Manager to work on a major project, Perth based on an initial 12-month contract.

They will be asking you to provide engineering design expertise for a major sustaining project for an existing mine of a Tier 1 mining company. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Manage and execute civil earthworks projects.
  • Working alongside a multidisciplinary high-performing team.
  • Oversee works, manage the client, and ensure key project deliverables of cost, time and quality are met.

What you will bring
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience working on civil earthworks engineering projects within the mining industry. Experience in bulk earthworks, and roads.
  • Experience in a similar role as an Area Manager, or Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer.
  • Highly motivated with well-developed skills in problem-solving and written/verbal communication, collaborative working and time/priority management.

You'll get to work on a project portfolio that provides exposure to a variety of engineering design scenarios including rock breaker upgrades and NPI Infrastructure (MEM Workshops, AN Facilities, HV/LV wash areas, Laboratories).
About you
  • Degree qualification in Civil Engineering (chartered membership status – Engineers Australia).
  • Consulting engineering experience – at a Senior level.
  • A good understanding of design stages (OoM, PFS, FS, Execution).
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to influence, negotiate & build productive relationships.
  • A keen eye for detail, good time management and a knack for problem-solving.
  • Current right to work in Australia.

Airswift is on a task to find a Lead Electrical Designer to work on a long term contract with a client of ours within the industrial gases segment, in Houston, TX.

Contractors will be hired on as W2 and will be eligible to our benefits package. They will work under the direction of a Design Team Leader and will be a part of a small team, who will interface with counterparts in other engineering and design centers located in India, England, and China.

Contract extensions are possible depending on performance year on year.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing 3D CAD design models using Smart 3D (S3D) software tool and creating 2D drawings in Microstation and SmartSketch for construction packages.
  • Types of Electrical design models and drawings will include a variety of drawing types, including but not limited to single line development, Medium and Low voltage cable sizing and schedules, medium and low voltage electrical control schematic, wiring interconnections, junction and control box design, heat trace systems design and layout, etc
  • Responsible for creating S3D models of cable tray layouts, underground conduit layouts, grounding/earthing layouts, lighting layouts, junction box and control station locations, etc.
  • In addition to using S3D, the individual will learn how to obtain relevant information, review vendor & equipment drawings, understand design criteria, and read project documents
  • Create S3D models for cable tray layouts, underground conduit systems, grounding systems, lighting layouts, junction box locations, electrical building layouts, and receptacle/control station layouts
  • Complete detailed design drawings for electrical distribution and control systems
  • Create Electrical drawings for site construction activities
  • Review vendor submittals and equipment reference drawings
  • Check drawings for accuracy and format
  • Interface with other Design teams Civil/Structural, Piping, Stress Analysis, Mechanical & Machinery, etc

Qualifications

  • Technical school education with CAD or associate degree in Drafting
  • Minimum 2-5 years of CAD experience in modeling & creating design drawings using software tools such as AutoCAD, S3D, Frameworks, MicroStation, Solidworks, or other 3D software
  • Experience with Smart 3D and SmartSketch is required
  • Willingness to learn new CAD software tools
  • Willingness to learn electrical distribution and control concepts
  • Create and populate 2D drawings from 3D models with guidance from discipline leads
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently over time
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major oil & gas clients to seek aProject Engineer to work within their facilities located in Deer Park, TX for a long-term contract.

Within this position, you will be responsible for developing and executing small capital projects to deliver timely, economical, and safe completion. Projects are primarily maintenance replacements. In-house and external design/engineering support is available as needed.

Daily responsibilities:

  • Act as the liaison with operations;
  • Develop and manage project scopes and schedules;
  • Estimate and control costs;
  • Determine applicable client and regulatory policies and procedures and assure project compliance;
  • Define and coordinate the work of engineering disciplines, both in-house and contract;
  • Review and approve drawings including flow sheets, isos, layouts, etc. and vendor submittals;
  • Prepare procedures, specifications, and bid packages;
  • Specify, requisitions, and expedite materials and equipment;
  • Coordinate construction and turn-over to operations; and
  • Communicate the design and technical issues to technical and non-technical functions through reports, memos, design documents, and presentations in a manner that is concise, factual and effective. Trains, directs, and reviews the work of lower level technical staff.
  • Recommend action to improve the quality of the engineering function and working on new engineering methods.

Previous education and experience required:

  • Graduate engineer with 5+ years or more of project engineering experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in chemical or petrochemical plant
  • Responsible for assuring that capital, operating and engineering costs are optimized, that all work is completed as scheduled and meets all environmental, health, safety, legal and code requirements.
  • Must be capable of handling multiple assignments with project ranging in size from $50K to $6MM.
