Materials Planner

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Materials Planner to join our dynamic team in our Supply Chain function. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations Planning, your main focus will be to lead and manage the process order management for assigned work centres across primary and secondary manufacturing in all aspects of capacity, materials and regulatory approvals within a cGMP facility. This role is a full-time 12-month fixed term position located in Parkville (Australia).

Role

• Review and monitor requirements for materials to ensure its availability for production deadlines.
• Manage and raise purchase orders for materials required by the operations team to meet schedule and project timelines.
• Review day to day materials stock review, identify risks and work through mitigating issues.
• Facilitate weekly commitment meetings with stakeholders across the business to agree on the weekly production plan considering raw material supply, QC and QA activities and with the goal of maintaining a production schedule aligned to the supply plan
• Manage SAP planning parameters to ensure accurate signals are transmitted to internal and external parties
• Work collaboratively with other planners to maintain knowledge of the planned manufacturing schedules across the site and working on strategies and plans to support them
• This role should have an excellent working knowledge of cGMP to provide support to Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Procurement

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree with minimum of 3 years' experience preferred or equivalent work experience in a regulated science or pharmaceutical / biotech environment
• Minimum 2 years' experience with SAP
• Experience in creating and maintaining master data (ideally in SAP)
• Experience with production planning methodology
• Extensive experience working with Microsoft Excel for reporting and scenario planning
• Experience in manufacturing processes and cGMP documentation
• Understanding of master scheduling and planning processes
• Be a problem solver with good judgement and initiative to achieve successful outcomes
• APICS Certification preferred but not essential
