Our client is an established leading consultancy that has a global presence, working with both the public and private sector, focusing on large-scale challenging projects across civil infrastructure, buildings, utilities, power, Defence and resources sectors to name a few.

They are currently recruiting for a

Senior Consultant /

Risk Specialist

/ Project Controls to join their successful and growing team.


As the Senior Consultant / Risk Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and managing risk management functions (policies, procedures and manuals), design and implement protocols for risk data analytics, producing reports, contingency management as well as assisting with tender and bid processes.


Potential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Project Controls Functions governance docs, including risk and contingency policies, procedures, guidelines and manuals to ensure effective project delivery
  • Implement project controls procedures and systems, project controls training and (kickoff) workshops for project management team and/ or contractor
  • Review/ contribute to technical bids as member of the bid team
  • Establish and maintain WBS, work packages, project cost ledger, also the project master schedule
  • Prepare/ review cost estimates
  • Implement/ support cost control, schedule and progress control
  • Monitor/ support cost performance activities to detect and understand variances from the budget
  • Produce/ support the delivery of accurate and unbiased cost forecasts at a detailed and summary level and forecast the final cost of the project
  • Identify and ensure early warning of adverse cost trends such that corrective actions may be taken
  • Develop and implement the Progress, Schedule Control and risk monitoring tools
  • Perform "whatif"analysis and preparation of corrective action when required
  • Develop, implement and execute Change Management
  • Integrate the changes to the scope, schedule and cost control systems and to the reporting
  • Implement project financial accounting procedures and systems, financial accounting training and (kickoff) workshops
  • Manage the interfaces between the Project Financial Accountant and the project team/contractors
  • Ensure that the Contractors' Project Controls Systems are capable of meeting Client requirements as outlined in the Job Specifications and Execution Procedures and ensure that cost control techniques and tools are adequately and properly implemented
  • Provide input to the project reports including Project Monthly Reports, Quarterly Report and the Project Completion Report
  • Provide benchmarking figures and gather best practices
  • Perform project reviews and audits
  • Carryout risk reporting associated with monitoring project contingency and potential scope modifications made during the project.
  • Design and implement protocols for risk data analytics to support riskbased decision making
  • Relevant Qualifications in Engineering, Construction or similar
  • Excellent communication skills, highly developed organisation and time management skills
  • 5+ years experience working as a project controls practitioner in highrisk, complex, and large scale/ major infrastructure, utilities, and Defence industries projects.
  • Relevant accreditation in project risk management is highly desirable
  • Experience in Probabilistic Non
  • Simulation risk analysis including, Enhanced Scenario Based, Reference Class Forecasting, Parametric based
  • Experience in Probabilistic Simulation risk analysis including 3 Point estimate, Risk Factors and First Principles Quantitative Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis
  • Experience in using risk databases and risk management systems, including systems/software to support quantitative risk analysis
  • Expert knowledge of planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Asta Powerproject
  • Strong report writing skills and analytical skills
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills
