Our client, a federal government agency that leads and coordinates national improvements in healthcare standards, is looking to appoint an EL 2 Director, Communications to plan, develop, guide and implement communication activities to support target communications / messaging in achieving the value and focus of the organisation.

Leading a small team of communications professionals, the position is responsible for coordinating and guiding external communications functions, with a particular focus on the development and implementation of innovative solutions designed to help the Commission better engage and support relevant audiences. In addition, the team supports some internal communications functions such as assisting with management of the intranet content and coordinating the internal newsletter.

To be considered for this role, you will be an Australian citizen and have the following skills and experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, digital developments or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar field
  • Previous experience working in government / healthcare-related environment would be highly regarded
  • Excellent stakeholder interaction and management skills (ie. general media / industry media)
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to strategically lead and manage communication projects (ie. communication framework, digital channel, content review etc.)
