Position Purpose

The role involves providing supervision and support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their well-being, safety, and independence by offering tailored assistance to help them achieve their life goals.

Reporting to

Support Coordinator

Supported Independent Living Manager

Skills
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support Plans or ability to quickly acquire the skills
  • Minimum one year of experience supporting individuals with disabilities or mental health conditions
  • Knowledge of working with people displaying challenging behavior
Qualifications And Experience
  • Relevant qualifications in disability, mental health, or community services preferred
  • Experience in manual handling tasks such as hoisting
  • Current Disability Worker Screening clearance or willingness to obtain one
Personal Attributes
  • Ability to work under pressure (essential)
  • Positive approach to change (essential)
  • Creative and innovative mindset (desirable)
Special Conditions
  • Driver's license and access to a safe vehicle with insurance

Task: House Supervision for Participant Wellbeing

Site: Supported Independent Living

Description: The Team Leader provides essential care and support to clients, including personal care, household tasks, and mobility assistance both independently and collaboratively.

Overall Physical Demand Rating: Medium

OH&S: Mandatory training in manual handling and safety protocols

Shift Times: Varied based on client needs

PPE: Closed-in shoes, mask, gloves as per task requirements

Physical Environment: Involves caring for clients in their personal spaces and supervising support workers

Client Base: Diverse in age, gender, health conditions, and backgrounds

Education: Formal qualifications not mandatory but relevant certifications preferred

Physical Demands of Working Day: Activities involve a mix of standing, walking, lifting, and fine motor skills
