The Opportunity

Join BDA's Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services as a Maintenance Operations Manager, leading our E-7A Wedgetail Maintenance Team at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland.

Take charge of a multi-skilled team, providing strategic planning, technical guidance, and fostering a dynamic work environment. We seek a dedicated and visionary professional with exceptional professionalism and integrity.

Please note that remote work options are limited for this role.

As our successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to cultivate a collaborative team culture, utilizing your creativity and leadership skills to make sound decisions, train and mentor employees, and oversee day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing a diverse team, focusing on their professional development, administrative tasks, and personal well-being.
  • Ensuring compliance of the 145 Maintenance Organization with Defence Aviation Safety Authority Regulations and the BDA Maintenance Organization Exposition (MOE).
  • Prioritizing and overseeing timely completion of Aircraft Base Maintenance activities, adhering to approved processes and procedures.
  • Managing risk assessment requirements, including conducting assessments for new equipment, coordinating the review process, and creating new assessments when necessary.
  • Additional expectations include fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture, making sound decisions, mentoring subordinates for improved performance, and implementing process improvements to enhance workflow and performance.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise and up-to-date knowledge of Aviation Maintenance practices.
  • Possession of Aviation Maintenance Certification, with a minimum of Certificate IV in Aero Skills.
  • Minimum of five years' recent experience in Military or Commercial Aircraft Maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Online Tools, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet the Defence Security Requirement of Negative Vetting 1.

Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (Negative Vetting 1) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.
