Staged for the first time in 2015 by Access Arts, the Festival has grown in profile and stature to be recognised as one of the leading events of its type in Australia.

Umbrella-ed by the Brisbane Festival and with the broader support of leading disability provider, CPL; Choice, Passion, Life, the 2021 event attracted more than 1,100 audience members and provided performance opportunities for 100+ performing artists with disability.

The Festival is due to return in September 2023 following a year long program of development activities.


The primary purpose of the Festival Producer is to work with the Festival Director, Access Arts and CPL teams, and a range of other delivery partners to ensure Festival is delivered in a commercially and critically successful way.

This pivotal role leads a number of back of house functions and manages budgeting and project planning, drawing on support from in-house functions as required.

This is a contract position until the end of November 2023.

While initially commencing at 2 days per week, it is likely for the role to increase to more days per week as the Festival approaches.


Responsibilities include

  • Work closely with the Festival Director and Festival Production Manager to deliver Undercover Artist activities, including but not limited to Workshop series, Creative Development Program, and Undercover Artist Festival 202
  • Develop and manage budget and reports on expenses and funding progress
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with partners including Queensland Theatre, Brisbane Festival, and other bodies.
  • Coordinate participation/involvement of a range of third parties, including performers, performing arts companies and vendors.

Selection criteria includes

  • Minimum of three years' experience of producing arts festivals (preferred).
  • Project management, ability to prioritise, good written and numeric skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate work within timetable.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team or autonomously to deliver results.
  • Disability awareness.
  • Full COVID Vaccination.
  • Blue card and NDIS Clearance.
