Job Description: Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Student Assistant

The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Student Assistant will handle daily tasks in the ILL department, including processing requests, tracking loans, and assisting with various projects. The work hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Duties:

  • Process incoming and outgoing book article requests
  • Handle shelving, retrieval, and transportation of materials
  • Package and ship library materials
  • Check in incoming materials and perform clerical tasks
  • Scan and distribute articles to other libraries
  • Assist with circulation duties and light cleaning
  • Shelve returns

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Attention to detail and multitasking abilities
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision

Qualifications:

  • Enrollment at UHD for six or more college credit hours
  • Eligibility for Texas Work Study through Financial Aid
