About the role

In the role of a Disability Support Worker, you will offer personalised, active support to individuals with disability. Your responsibilities will vary depending on each client's needs, but prior experience in personal care, manual handling, and behaviour support will be greatly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enjoy the flexibility of working hours that suit your lifestyle across a 24/7 roster, including sleepovers and active overnights
  • Empower our clients to live independently and achieve their goals by implementing and monitoring individual support, behavior support, and health care plans with a person-centred approach
  • Track and document an individual's progress through detailed note-keeping using basic technology and software on mobile devices and desktops

Skills & Experience

  • A commitment to supporting and advocating the individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals of people with disability through strong communication, flexibility and adaptability as well as behaviour management skills
  • A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current unrestricted driver's licence and access to reliable vehicle (minimum Third Party Insurance)

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
