About the Role:

This role offers you a rare chance to delve into the complete risk landscape of a retail bank, a unique opportunity not commonly found in other organizations.

As a direct report to the Chief Risk Officer, your main responsibility will involve supporting and integrating Alex Bank's risk management framework with widespread involvement across the bank.

Ideally, you will possess a robust comprehension of risk and compliance frameworks within a regulated financial services environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, integrating, and supervising our risk frameworks.
  • Contributing to Board and management risk reports, including the establishment of suitable risk metrics.
  • Creating and executing 2nd-line control assurance plans, which involve testing the efficacy of crucial controls.
  • Supporting oversight and advancement of business continuity and contingency planning.
  • 2nd-line monitoring of projects and change management initiatives.
  • Offering top-notch risk advice, training, and assistance to business units.
  • Promoting the development of risk culture and engagement throughout the organization.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • University qualifications in business, commerce, information security, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in risk and/or compliance is highly valued, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory framework applicable to the banking sector.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, a collaborative spirit, solid commercial judgment, writing and presentation abilities.
  • A proactive individual with keen attention to detail, robust critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
