Bakery Stocker

Position Summary
Prepares Bakery for use. Stocks and rotates dated products and supplies. Ensures that the Bakery Department has the necessary ingredients, packaging and consumables to produce bakery related products. Assists with wrapping and merchandising baked goods. Follows proper safety and sanitation procedures and standards. Provides prompt and courteous customer service.

Moves pallets of merchandise with a stand-up electric forklift/electric pallet jack on the sales floor. Stacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets and wraps in plastic wrap. Ensures that pallets placed in steel meet Costco Standards. Assists with stocking merchandise, clearing the sales floor of debris, and checking signs for accuracy. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

• Prepares Bakery for use
• Starts up equipment when required
• Checks production schedules and pulls first bake of frozen items
• Fulfils drop list needs and stocks in proper storage area
• Rotates all dated product
• Restocks and consolidates remaining items left on pallets for safe conveyance by the forklift operator
• Marks any freezer to cooler items with Bin Tag
• Refers to Production Bench Manual when panning up frozen items
• Follows Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines for cleaning and sanitation of all equipment
• Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and Bakery Department
• Assists with wrapping, merchandising, and other Bakery duties as needed
• Assists in other areas and departments of the warehouse as necessary
• Provides prompt and courteous customer service to drivers, members, employees, and suppliers.
• Completes daily forklift safety checklist
• Hooks batteries up to battery charger.
• Assists with creating drop list of merchandise for placement in aisles
• Communicates with floor managers to set priorities and determine merchandise placement
• Moves pallets of merchandise using electric forklift and electric pallet
• Uses/acts as spotter to alert forklift driver if something is falling and to keep people out of the falldanger zone
• Wraps pallets in plastic wrap and attaches a merchandise tag
• Stacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets
• Removes empty pallets from the sales floor
• Rotates stock as necessary
• Ensures that all pallets being placed in steel meet Costco Standards
• Assists with stocking
• Clears sales floor of debris
• Checks merchandise sign accuracy
• Ensures that the steel safety inspection checklist issues are rectified
• Marks unmarked merchandise with item number
• Follows proper Merchandising and general safety procedures and standards

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery_**- Oven racks, pan dollies, pallet jack, pallets, flat bed, wheeled racks, commercial dish washer, apricot glazer, bag sealer, scale, rolling ladder, wrapping machine, labeller, food processor, EPJ/forklift.

Education/Training:
Higher School Certificate or higher

Licenses/Certifications:
Current forklift licence

Other Skills and Abilities:
Bakery, stocker or comparable experience

Basic math skills
