Key responsibilities - Provide strategic media and issues management advice to departmental and ministerial staff.

- Prepare communication and media-related materials in consultation with content experts and key stakeholders/contributors including media responses, media releases, Question and Answers, Parliamentary Statements, social media content (visuals, posts, etc.), speaking points and speeches, and communication materials (fact sheets, reports, advertising copy etc).

- Work closely with Communication team members to develop and implement integrated communication, media and social media campaigns and strategies to support key departmental initiatives.

- Undertake media analysis, research and reporting to provide strategic insight, ensuring all materials are well researched, address key industry issues and are suitable for the target audience.

- Maintain processes to ensure the department's media function is responsive, effectively managed, and aligned with broader government requirements. - Ensure the appropriate risk and issues management due diligence is undertaken at all times.

- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues in the Communication team, across the department, Minister's Office and Queensland Government.

- Actively contribute to the development of a high-performing team as well as supporting fellow team members to enhance their skills and confidence in undertaking a range of communication, engagement, online and media-related activities.

- Participate in a roster (when required) to provide media management for critical incidents occurring after hours, including responding to related media inquiries.

- Contribute as required to the broader Communication function within the department
