Job Description

SGS is looking for a Chemist to join the team on Curtis Island. The successful candidate will be relocated to Gladstone. The responsibilities include:

  • Laboratory operations and field sampling on the Curtis Island facility
  • Testing cargo for LNG assay and reporting to market requirements
  • Maintenance of equipment, sampling, and analysis for HSE and production purposes
  • Provide chemical analysis of routine and non-routine samples as directed by the Client
  • Off-site chemical analysis for environmental and LNG product testing
  • Provide sample containers, collection, freight, and analysis in a cost-effective manner
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an oil and gas industry laboratory
  • Experience with analytical instruments and gas chromatography
  • Experience in operating live gas plant sampling stations
  • Experience with NATA/ISO 17025 accreditation
  • Experience in using a LIMS
