We have a great opportunity for an experienced
Maintenance Fitter to join our dynamic team at
Somerton,
VIC, working hand in hand with the plant's production department.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining all plant equipment, safely and efficiently.

This will be an
afternoon shift position_._

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventative and breakdown maintenance on the site's fixed plant & equipment.
  • Ensuring that maintenance tasks are conducted safety, and in compliance with any quality and/or environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participate and assist in equipment upgrades and installation.
  • Recommend improvements to eliminate repeat defects.
  • Consult and coordinate with other site employees.
  • Participate in Toolbox Talks, actively taking part to resolve operational and HSEQ issues.

About you:

  • Cert
  • Engineering trade qualification in either:
  • Mechanical
  • Fabrication
  • Tool Making
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance role in a similar industry, e.g., mining, manufacturing, recycling, etc.
  • Understanding of safety & quality systems and procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Sound problem solving abilities and strong attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be selfmotivated and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Forklift Licence must have.
  • Current licenses / tickets including working at heights, confined space, will be highly regarded.
  • MIG and arc welding experience preferred.
