  • Ensure all business induction & training policies are followed and implemented
  • Ensure all Visitors, Contractors and new employees, are inducted and fully understand site rules.
  • Plan within the guidelines of all legal and statutory requirements
  • Attend and contribute to meetings that relate to all risk and compliance matters
  • Ensuring high standards of Quality are maintained, promoting safety policies and procedures on an ongoing basis
  • Understand the requirements of HACCP and ensure that they are being carried out by all staff
  • Implement, monitor and, or comply with WHS Management System, including but not limited to WHS policies, Standard operating procedures, Risk Assessments / Work Instructions, and associated system tools in relevant work areas.
  • Understand and adhere to the principles of Risk Management
  • Assist managers and Team Leaders in identifying risks and risk corrective actions
  • Developing, maintaining and implementing strategies and annual plans for risk and compliance management and related activities.
  • Examining regulations ensuring compliance is met for export
  • Overseeing and monitoring the implementation of the risk and compliance frameworks throughout the company including risk and compliance assessments, and action plans.
  • Reporting on Risk and Compliance to senior management, and as required, external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring Risk and Compliance Assessments are undertaken including analysis and reports on developments, exposures, control, breaches and related action plans across company's programs and activities.
  • Identifying and communicating as necessary on industry developments and changes in best practice for risk and compliance management.
  • Providing guidance, advice, and/ or training programs, to embed business understanding of risk management, regulatory, contractual and policy requirements to staff and key stakeholders, as required.
  • Supervision of members of the risk and compliance team
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls when undertaking audit processes and work collaboratively with staff towards continuous improvement
  • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training
  • Reporting and Auditing, report on findings from audits, including making recommendations for improvement to policies, operations and processes in line with best practice.
  • To provide other relevant assistance to senior management that may be required

Position requirements (Qualifications / Experience / Skills)Key

  • Key Criteria 2+ years proven experience in risk management or compliance roles
  • Transport & Logisitcs sector experience highly regarded
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, a compliance certification & hold tertiary qualifications
  • Superior attention to detail in order to identify and correct risky practices
  • Possess a collaborative personality and be open to suggestions from team members
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Selfmanaged, flexible, motivated and energetic
  • HACCP skills and working knowledge highly regarded
  • High standard of computer literacy and the ability to interrogate data
