THE OPPORTUNITY:


Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Programs Officer contribute to the development and delivery of programs for a range of diverse audiences at Melbourne Museum.

Working alongside with the Programs team at Melbourne Museum, key duties of this role include:

  • As directed, collaborate with relevant staff from across Museums Victoria to support the development and delivery of a broad range of public programs and events that meaningfully engage our diverse audiences with the unique mission, content pillars, and vision of our museums;
  • Develop, source and prepare associated program materials such as printed and digital resources, handouts, activities, and props;
  • Assist with Department administrative tasks including monitoring, maintenance and ordering of program equipment and resources, providing marketing, digital and website information on public programs, program and event documentation, correspondence, requisitions and purchase orders, processing of payments and scheduling;
  • Present a broad range of programs, activities or shows for diverse audiences, as directed;
  • Provide support on the evaluation of programs to ensure continuous improvement of programs;
  • Assist with the preparation and implementation of staff rosters;
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training for volunteers and staff who assist in the delivery of public programs;
  • Some weekend/out of business hours work required;

OTHER INFORMATION:

This role is an Irregular Part-time, Ongoing position (4 days per week). The salary on offer is $65,409 per annum; paid pro-rata (Base of grade) plus 10.5% superannuation.
