About the role
As Group Manager Group Manager Non-Production Environments
- you will be Accountable to build, enhance and maintain the non-production environment management capability. Scope includes Environment Management, Test Data Management, Service Virtualization and Application Performance Monitoring set up.

Accountable for the planning and management of the availability and usage of non-production environments. Scope includes configuration, scheduling, availability, and test data management.

Your key responsibilities will include**:

  • Work collaboratively with architecture and product teams to define and own the nonproduction environment strategy and roadmap
  • Provide inputs to the nonproduction platforms APM strategy in alignment with the overall APM strategy to provide end to end visibility of the overall test platforms
  • Provide Service Virtualization solution for test platforms, as required, to minimize the cost & maximize the efficiency
  • Contribute as a senior member of a highly capable, passionate, and motivated leadership team
  • Defining, baselining and operationalisation of key metrics.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends in technology, including cloud, latest architecture & designs for quality engineering platforms and artificial intelligence.
  • Create and maintain an inventory of environment components, test data and integrations
  • Create and maintain nonproduction environment related processes and templates
  • Plan and coordinate availability of nonproduction environments
  • Schedule maintenance slots and communicate to the relevant teams
  • Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements with the project teams and support teams for environment provision, availability and support
  • Work with the various project managers, delivery managers, test managers and test leads to coordinate planned outage and environment refresh
  • Define and forecast requirements for support resources for nonproduction environments
  • Maintain an environment usage schedule
  • Agree and communicate environment usage
  • Manage requests for environment build activity
  • Provide and track environment provision or maintenance project plans
  • Manage and report on Risks / Assumptions / Issues and Dependencies of the test environments for the associated projects
  • Act as point of escalation during Test Execution phases, where appropriate provide incident management and root cause analysis
  • Sign off environment maintenance activities prior to systems being released to projects
  • Design and implement efficient procedures for the distribution and installation of changes to the systems
  • Ensure that hardware and software being changed is traceable, secure and that only correct, authorised and tested versions are released

About you & your skills
You are an experienced and proven people leader with excellent interpersonal & leadership skills alongside analytical & problem-solving skills along with

  • At least 8 years senior or managerial IT experience, as a Non-Functional Engineering Manager of digital products in an agile environment, with experience delivering large programs of work, including operation support.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing technical solutions in large scale, complex and distributed environments.
  • Advanced understanding of all aspects of the technology's broader operational environment (i.e., processes, procedures, associated toolsets, operating systems, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of nonfunctional engineering principles, products, and services in a hybrid cloud environment, with a technical background.
  • A proven track record in people management and experience in building and leading large teams
  • Proficient knowledge on load testing & APM Tools (Load Runner, Jmeter, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Sumo logic, Splunk)
  • Proficient Knowledge on Performance Engineering, tuning & optimizations (code level, architectural, configurational & Database)
  • Proven experiences in Nonfunctional Testing such as Resilience, availability, scalability, failover, Archival, Restoration, Auditability & load testing
  • Proven experiences in Service Virtualization concepts & frameworks
  • Proven experiences in Root Cause Analysis, production profiling & capacity projections
  • Demonstrated experiences in Site Reliability Engineering in cloud platforms
