The innovative process design ensures production is highly efficient with globally competitive operating costs for a plant of this scale and size.

As the Manager Engineering, you will be at the helm of a skilled team, tasked with the crucial role of delegating and overseeing the completion of a wide range of engineering functions within an operational environment.

Your leadership will ensure that your team effectively manages engineering requirements, executes comprehensive plans, conducts failure analysis, adheres to compliance standards, and fosters cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities Safe and effective leadership of a multi-discipline Engineering team including the coaching, mentoring and development of all team members Provide visible positive leadership by demonstrating safe behaviours at all times and displaying the Fortescue values, whilst managing the effective utilisation of the operation Empower your team to establish and monitor engineering processes and attributes, ensuring alignment with business unit goals and stakeholder expectations Support your team to ensure all engineering solutions comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements Encourage a culture of collaboration within your team and across departments, ensuring the successful integration of systems and project success Developing innovative solutions for cost effective and efficient project delivery whilst maximising performance and positive culture across the team to provide a thriving environment Qualifications and Experience Tertiary degree in relevant field with significant experience in managing diverse teams to achieve project objectives within budget, cost, and quality requirements alongside a passion for coaching and people development Excellent problem-solving abilities with a creative approach to addressing engineering challenges Ability to generate innovative solutions using both internal and external resources Quick adaptability to changing project requirements and a strong commitment to continuous professional development with a flexible mindset prepared to work outside comfort zones Superior communication and negotiation skills with the ability to engage and empower large teams alongside the capability to influence project direction and secure stakeholder support toward business goals Experience in engaging and managing external consultants and contractor with skills working effectively with office and field-based technical teams, ensuring cohesive team progress Ability to articulate and influence the corporate vision, aligning organizational values, goals, and management systems Our Commitment Fortescue is deeply committed to providing a safe culture that builds respect, fosters inclusiveness, and values diversity.
