We have opportunities to join our National Billing and Settlements team in Ringwood as a Settlements Officer
Job security together with a hybrid work arrangement, is a great way to broaden your existing skill base into the billing and settlements area of our business and explore new opportunities as you work with a supportive team.
A typical day for a Settlements Officer will have you responsible for liaising with clients, statutory bodies, legal firms and insurers to guarantee timely recovery of straightforward settlement documentation, client compensation and recovery of debt.
- Exceptional client experience and service
- Dealing with the internal legal practice groups and lots of other external providers (for example: statutory bodies (like the ATO, WorkSafe and the Transport Accident Commission), other legal firms and insurers
- Assist with refund management of all client liabilities and refunds
- Autonomy when drafting noncomplex bills for settlement
- Assist in the recovery of client compensation and outstanding debt
- Support the Team Leader in the monitoring and distribution of client compensation
- Monitor trust transfers and ledger reconciliation
- All other duties as required.
This role will ideally suit someone with a business/legal/finance administration finance background (however, this is not essential).
It would also be great if you have a good understanding of the billing and settlement process, enjoy working with databases, and strong customer services skills.
You will also bring the following attributes to the role:- 1-3 years' experience in a similar field (highly desirable)

- Ability to take initiative, work to deadlines and multitask
- Strong prioritisation & time management skills
- Expertise with the MS Office suite (Word and Excel)
