Position Details

Mater Dei College is looking for a part-time, temporary English/HASS Teacher to join the Teaching Department starting from Semester 2 on July 15, 2024. This role will run until December 31, 2024.

This position involves teaching English and Humanities, with a focus on English classes. We need someone enthusiastic and dedicated to help students achieve their best.

  • Implement effective teaching methods to engage students of all levels.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Plan and assess student performance regularly.
  • Meet set deadlines.
Selection Criteria

The ideal candidate should exhibit professionalism and align with the Catholic ethos. They must be capable of teaching English and HASS across different levels, including Years 11 and 12.

Applicants should possess a relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrate experience in these areas. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, preferably in English or Humanities.
  • Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) or equivalent.
Terms of Employment
  • Hold a valid registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
  • Have a current Working with Children Check.
  • Acquire necessary accreditations for teaching in a Catholic School.
Highly Desirable
  • Teaching experience in English and/or HASS.
  • Experience with high school students.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and partners.
