Sunshine Coast Grammar School (SCGS) is seeking a dynamic, relational leader for the Primary School.

Sunshine Coast Grammar School (SCGS) is an independent co-educational school, catering for 1,400 Prep to Year 12 students, with a total population of 650 Junior School students.

SCGS offers a 144-place ELC program.

SCGS is a school of the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association and is grounded in strong Christian beliefs and values which underpin its actions and care for all members of the wider community.


The Head of Primary School is a member of the SCGS School Executive Team and as a member of that team assists and supports the Principal in all aspects of School leadership.

The position holds oversight of the Primary School, maximising the learning opportunities of all students from Prep to Year - the capacity to lead a high performing team with a strong knowledge of evidence-based pedagogies and a commitment to high expectations
- proven experience in leading, motivating and empowering Primary School staff in their professional growth
- a commitment to contributing to the Executive Leadership team and strategy of the whole school
- evidence of leadership of contemporary wellbeing practices that ensure the health and safety of the Primary School students and staff
- the ability to share responsibility for the school's strategic planning and the continued implementation of the priorities established through the Annual Action Plan
- proven experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective communication with all community stakeholders
- a commitment to supporting staff in enabling a challenging, relevant, and engaging learning environment for all students.


Preferably commencing in Semester 2, 2023 (this start date is negotiable), the Head of Primary School supports the Principal in leading, developing and driving the execution of initiatives aligned to achieving the values, vision, mission and strategic objectives of the school.

The Head of Primary School is an integral member of the School's Executive Team, and as a member of that team, assists and supports the Principal in all aspects of leadership.
