APG is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Tradesperson for a 6 Month contract within a Waratah Government Sector.

$60.00 per hour + Super

Hours of work: 38 Per Week

Primary purpose of the role
The role will safely undertake a range of duties to maintain and repair plant items, vehicles and mechanical equipment.

Key accountabilities

  • Safely undertake a range of duties to maintain and repair plant items, vehicles and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform a wide range of routine and complex labouring/ manual tasks, including the use of a variety of small plant and powered and nonpowered hand tools, to assist with the completion of work activities.
  • Work is completed under limited supervision and may be done in a team environment or independently.
  • Conduct safety checks on all plant used, complete basic maintenance such as refueling and checking fluid and maintain records and reports to ensure the safe use of plant items
  • Solve routine problems that arise, referring to standard guidelines and manuals and collaborate with
- supervisors and managers to resolve complex problems to ensure risks are minimised and work goals are achieved.

  • Provide guidance to team members, including apprentices/trainees, leading the work output of a small unit as required, to develop capability and ensure team tasks are completed effectively.

Essential requirements

  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
  • Current Construction Industry White Card.
  • Current unrestricted NSW motor vehicle driver's license.
  • Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed.
  • It is desirable if they have a boat license or plant mechanic experience
