About The Role

We are searching for an experienced, positive, proactive and quality focused Garment Technician to join our collaborative Production team here at ELK.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the design team through all stages of garment product development from design to manufacture
  • Closely partner with our intimate network of offshore makers to achieve critical path from design through to bulk production
  • Create tech packs (specification sheets, measurements and grades for new styles) including technical drawings (using Illustrator), garment details, fabric, print, colourways and labelling
  • Oversee effective and efficient fit sessions, making proactive suggestions to ensure best fit and performance
This is a full time, hybrid role based in our Preston office in Melbourne.

Who are you?

You are a perfect match with:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar, Garment Technician role developing apparel
  • Qualification in Fashion Production / Pattern Making / Quality Control or related
  • Pattern making, fit & grading experience (essential)
  • Adobe Illustrator (intermediate proficiency essential)
  • Ability to interpret design sketches to create tech packs
  • Experience working with 3D design software (highly regarded)
