The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) is Australia's premier training ground for future leaders and practitioners in the dramatic arts.

NIDA is unique in the world for its practice-based and industry-relevant training in the range that it offers which includes Acting, Design, Costume, Properties and Objects, Technical Theatre and Stage Management, Scenic Construction, Writing for Performance, Directing and Cultural Leadership.

The Lighting Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of NIDA's theatres to support our needs as an Australian educational institute for the dramatic arts, our short courses, corporate training and NIDA's venues as a commercial performing arts centre.

The position requires a highly organized technician with leadership and supervisory skills, a demonstrated knowledge of theatre lighting equipment and a commitment to using their knowledge and skills to support NIDA's teaching environment.


Requirements:


You will have at least 5 years experience in a similar role in a performing arts company or theatres complex, with expert knowledge of lighting technology and systems for live performance.

You will understand working to tight deadlines while maintaining safety.

Along with delivering excellent customer service, you will also enjoy managing a team and imparting your knowledge of up to date industry best practice, whilst being conscious of budgetary requirements.
