About the opportunity


You will join our National Health Services Directory Service (NHSD) which is a key piece of national digital health infrastructure.

It supports the Australian Digital Health Agency's national strategy for improving digital health integration across the health system.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and availability of data within the NHSD.

Your work will directly contribute to improving the accessibility and quality of healthcare information for the public, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders, maintaining a key focus on governance and data management.


The Data Manager will lead the implementation of a Data Strategy for the NHSD, including review and refinement of the Data Sourcing Strategy and Data Management programs and processes.

The NHSD partners with a range of organisations as data sources and data partners.

You will be responsible for the management of the Data Management team providing oversight over the data ingestion, data validation, data storage, data provisioning and data archival.

This will include analytics and reporting functions.

You can contribute through your:

  • Proven experience (more than 10 years) in data management, data governance, or a similar role, preferably in the healthcare domain.
  • Strong knowledge of data management principles, data modelling, and database technologies.
  • Proven ability to identify and deliver initiatives that deliver business value to diverse stakeholders through better use of data.
  • Experience in developing, managing, and implementing Strategic and Operational Plans
  • Experience managing stakeholders and teams taking a handson approach.
