Your role

  • Are you great with numbers and have sharp analytical skills? Are you detailoriented, precise in your working style and motivated to understand interdependencies and to question them? Do you have a fund accounting/operations background in the finance sector?
  • To strengthen our team we are looking for new colleague working in the following main areas:
  • Reviewing and processing of fund valuations and transaction entries as well as reconciliation of prices and positions with various custodians and administrators
  • Prepare portfolio activity, portfolio analysis, client valuations, cash flow projections and client specific reporting on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Review the fund distribution calculations prepared by the custodian on a monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual basis depending on the fund's distribution frequency.
  • Review financial statements, BAS, trust tax returns and other information for submission to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Australian Taxation Office and Australian Bureau of Statistics.
  • Review monthly management expense ratio (MER) to ensure the proper calculation of management fee by the administrator.
  • Establish and maintain a great working relationship with custodians/administrators, portfolio managers, auditors, and other key business stakeholders.

Your team

  • As part of the Fund Accounting team in Sydney, you'll be supporting the both the Fund Accounting and Operations functions for daily, monthly, quarterly and annual key deliverables and reporting. This role acts as conduit for the global hubs i.e. London, Singapore, Poland, manages the custodians/administrators, and services the Front Office and other business areas. So, your strong relationship building skills will be put to good use. As a Fund Accounting Specialist, you'll play an important role in ensuring the accurate valuation and daily pricing of our funds, portfolio reconciliation including cash and trades, reviewing the distribution calculations of the funds and the financial statements.

Your expertise

  • You have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance or similar
  • Accounting qualifications CPA/CA is an advantage
  • Previous experience in a fund accounting and/or fund operations role in a financial services organisation
  • Good understanding of the Funds industry (including custodian) or asset management.
  • Understanding the Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS.
