WSP collaborates with major engineering partners such as the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Transport for NSW, Department of Transport and Planning (Vic), Main Roads WA, Transurban, prominent construction contractors, and like-minded consultancies.

WSP's ITS team sets the industry standard and presents a distinct opening for the right candidate to become part of our team.

What you'll do:

The position in the ITS team will involve providing design and consulting support in the following areas:

  • ITS engineering for major infrastructure project design activities spanning concept, business case, detailed design, and construction phases
  • Electrical engineering focusing on lighting, signals, and roadside infrastructure
  • Network and communication engineering
  • Consulting services for clients in emerging technology sectors like connected and automated vehicles, smart city infrastructure, new mobility, data aggregation, analytics, and systems
  • Reviewing design activities by engineering teams related to ITS designs and engineering
  • Utilizing computer-aided design tools including AutoCAD, powerCAD, AGI32, Perfect Lite, and others
  • Engaging in client relationship management and business development activities for existing and new client prospects
  • Participating in project bids while considering commercial aspects such as margin, risk, and estimating
  • Adhering to all role-specific SHEQ responsibilities

WSP's ITS team has established connections in the planning and mobility, transport, and digital engineering realms, offering a wide array of opportunities for the right individual with an adaptable approach, inquisitive mindset, and the ability to apply engineering principles to emerging fields.

About You

You are likely to possess skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in signals, lighting, and intelligent transport domains. 5+ years are preferred
  • Chartered Status with Engineers Australia is beneficial
  • Leading design teams to deliver comprehensive design packages
  • Familiarity with engineering tools like AutoCAD and engineering design software
  • Background in a consulting environment demonstrating leadership in quality engineering design and consulting services
  • Interest and/or experience in emerging digital fields such as AWS, scripting (python, C++), and other development tools
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively in a high-performing team, with a track record of prioritizing team success and providing support as needed
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others, remaining open to fresh ideas and technologies
  • Proficiency in producing high-quality written communications and supporting technical engineering tasks with effective communication tailored to the target audience
