Generalists - In-house (Legal)Government - State (Government & Defence) Seqwater is the Queensland Government Bulk Water Supply Authority, responsible for delivering safe, secure and cost-effective bulk water supply for over 3 million people across Southeast Queensland.

About Your Opportunity Reporting to our Manager Legal Counsel, You will focus on maximising value to Seqwater and minimising disputes and litigation.
The legal advice provided will range from high level strategic advice, to detailed transactional advice and documentation across a broad legal spectrum.
Key responsibilities:
Provide and coordinate expert legal advice across a portfolio of legal matters.
Responsibility for the drafting and preparation of legal contracts and advice tomaximise value to Seqwater and minimise disputes and litigation.
Provide guidance to internal clients with negotiating, reviewing, and drafting legal agreements and commercial contracts.Provide professional written and verbal advice to internal clients on legal and legal policy issues.
Facilitate and lead training and information sessions within the internal client's team.
Establish, maintain, and effectively manage key stakeholders, client and supplier relationships to ensure the timely delivery of services, ensuring a customer focused delivery of services is achieved for the internal client's team.
Identify and remain abreast of legal developments of potential legal risks relevant to the internal client's team and proactively advise on best management strategies.
About you To be successful in this role, you will possess: Tertiary qualification in law with current practicing certificate Minimum of 2 years post admission experience This position will be offered as an individual TFR contract with an attractive salary and is a fulltime permanent position.
Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements.
