About the Role:

This a fantastic opportunity for a Civil Engineering Graduate or Traffic and Transport Engineer to join our team. The role is to investigate and resolve traffic and transport issues raised by the community, and stakeholders and manage the delivery of small to medium-scale traffic and transport projects, seeing them from start to completion. The Transport and Development Engineering department is responsible for providing advice to stakeholders in relation to traffic and development engineering, road safety, project development and management, and management of school crossing supervision program, parking, and traffic enforcement.

About You:

  • Near completion or successful completion of your Civil Engineering (or equivalent) degree
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated capacity and strong willingness to learn and develop
  • Goal oriented and high level of accountability
  • Soft skills are highly regarded

Skills, experience and certificates:

  • Have some understanding of relevant industry standards such as; (Australian Standards, AustRoads' Road Design, Road Safety and Traffic Management, VicRoads' Traffic Engineering Manual and Traffic Management Notes, etc.) and legislation (Road Safety Road Rules, Planning Scheme, Local Government Act, etc.)
  • Be able to collect and analyse data for preparation of reports
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in an effective and efficient manner
  • Strong understanding of using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
  • Be able to be adaptable in a changing environment, organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Be highly proficient in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
  • Basic use of AutoCAD and AutoTurn is advantageous but not a prerequisite
  • Experience in a customer service role is beneficial but not a prerequisite
