Olympic Dam harbors one of the largest reservoirs of copper, gold, and uranium globally. Situated 560 kilometers north of Adelaide, South Australia, Olympic Dam forms part of our Minerals Australia sector. It consists of below-ground and surface operations and runs a completely unified processing facility from ore to metal.

About the Role

The Lead Commissioning position entails overseeing the commissioning planning and execution activities on designated projects to guarantee that commissioning is seamlessly integrated into the project execution plan and is optimized to facilitate a safe, efficient, and successful startup and handover. This role also involves providing guidance to Commissioning specialists and contractors on assigned projects to ensure that commissioning is optimized and carried out safely.

Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring a paramount commitment to health, safety, environmental, and community responsibilities throughout Commissioning activities.
  • Aligning commissioning strategies on projects with ODAP requirements.
  • Closely collaborating with key project and operational stakeholders to ensure the successful initiation and escalation of projects.
  • Supplying commissioning planning and expertise and coordinating commissioning resources to execute activities securely and effectively on assigned projects.
  • Ensuring that commissioning standards, processes, methodologies, and systems are rigorously applied on designated projects in compliance with MAP requirements.
  • Presenting regular reports and presentation materials to line and project leaders for projects.
  • Influencing stakeholders professionally and respectfully to drive optimized outcomes across Studies, Delivery, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Technology teams.
About You

As a successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in field-based commissioning within the mining industry.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a pertinent trade qualification.
  • Technical expertise spanning a wide array of engineering disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Commissioning & Completions management systems.
  • A profound understanding of contracts and procurement practices, as well as proficient management of risk and governance in a project management capacity, will be crucial for excelling in this position.
  • As a results-oriented professional, your technical competencies will be complemented by exceptional engagement and communication skills.
  • A proactive, credible, and influential individual, you establish rapport effectively, communicate confidently, and forge robust working relationships with key stakeholders.
Location and Roster

This position will predominantly be field-based at Olympic Dam, operating on a fly-in-fly-out 4D3X roster from Adelaide.
