2. About the Position:

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about sustainability, driven by sales, and have a knack for visual creativity to join our team. Your role will involve collaborating with team members, bringing your customer-focused expertise and enthusiasm to support our cause by assisting in the growth of our sales operations. You will play a crucial part in the development and success of our new Pink Cross Shop initiative.

Volunteers should be able to dedicate 4 to 10 hours per week, be present at our Elsternwick, Victoria, Pink Cross Warehouse between 8:30 am and 5 pm on weekdays and/or Saturdays. Sunday availability is necessary when preparing merchandise for upcoming markets.

Workdays and hours are flexible, determined by your Manager's schedule, customer needs, deadlines, and your availability in this exclusive and fulfilling frontline role. Think of it as being part of a supportive community, similar to the Salvos, dedicated to empowering women.

In this dynamic role, your responsibilities will include setting up stalls, arranging merchandise, and participating in Sunday Markets at the Pink Cross Workshop near Elsternwick, Victoria. Applicants must have access to transportation via car or public transit.

3. As a part of this role, you will:

  • Utilize your artistic skills, including great handwriting, crafting abilities, and a focus on sustainability, to assist in visual merchandising coordination.
  • Organize, package, and price merchandise for storage and transportation to local markets on Sundays.
  • Create branded products using bulk merchandise such as barreled shampoo, sourcing recycled jars and adding visual appeal to the items.
  • Seek out, book, and prepare for participation in various in-person events like conferences and public exhibitions.
  • Handle sales transactions using cash, Square POS machine, iPads, or mobile phones.
  • Identify and explore low-cost retail opportunities for product promotion.
  • Photograph and post finished products on retail platforms and company website.
  • Engage with stakeholders positively, uphold excellent customer service standards, and ensure timely follow-up on sales requests.
  • Aim to achieve financial targets by sourcing new products and sales avenues.

  • Passionate about Pink Cross' mission
  • Strong time management, resourcefulness, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and proactive
  • Creative, sustainability-focused, and capable of lifting up to 20kg
  • Preferred: prior retail or administrative experience
