About the role


Reporting to the Manager - Research Data and Statistics, the Junior Data Analyst will support the research team in the management and analysis of research data, the development of surveys, the preparation and management of data dictionaries and related standardised operating procedures.


To be successful in this role you will be passionate about engaging with audiences and proactively engaging with internal and external stakeholders.


Role responsibilities include:

  • Assist with data analyses for MESHA reports
  • Assist with the design and implementation of data management systems for research projects
  • Assist MESHA staff to run data queries to inform report writing and research dissemination
  • Write python code that prepares derived datasets for analyses and to perform statistical analyses and data visualisations
  • Prepare presentations of research findings at conferences and workshops
  • Manage MESHA SharePoint site and develop databases used for general administrative purposes

About you
To be successful in the role you will ideally have:

  • Degree (or in progress) in data related field such as computer science, data science, biostatistics, data management, or public health/epidemiology
  • Experience managing healthrelated research data, including data cleaning and preparation of data for statistical analyses
  • Excellent working knowledge of python programming language
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
