Wardsperson to join the

Northern and Southern Illawarra Hospital Group.

What you'll be doing
The Wardsperson works within a multidisciplinary team environment.

It is a diverse role which focuses on the patient journey throughout the hospital with an emphasis on the movement of patients between the wards and departments.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Work Health and Safety issues in particular basic manual handling techniques involved in lifting and transferring patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally with members of the public and staff with a courteous and strong responsive customer focused service and an appreciation of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting and commitment to harmonious work relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand essential documentation including safe work practices, manual handling and infection control procedures.
  • Ability to prioritise in a demanding work environment.
  • Demonstrated high degree of reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work shift work, and successful experience in a team environment and the ability to work unsupervised with the capacity to work under supervision and/or independently.
  • Must be able to fulfil the physical requirements of the position.
